Crocop Came to Zagreb

Crocop with his son:

-he said he has had enough of the soldier life for the past 20 years, waking up early in the morning and training every day, breaking his bones and bones of his opponents, 42 jet lags just from travelling to Japan, 5 major surgeries, 250 stiches, 32 fights in Pride, around 30 fights in K1, 47 in amatuer boxing

-definately won’t fight this year if ever; Dana said to him to take a rest and sleep on it, the UFC’s doors are always open to him; again he says never say never but probably not

-no matter what he says he will stay in contact with the sport (give seminars) and the UFC

on the fight:

-he says he wasn’t rocked; he asked Barry why he didn’t try to finish him and Barry said he looked in his eyes and saw he wasn’t hurt

-he said his gas tank was never better dut to emphasis on hard sparrings vs. mostly hitting the bag and pads (BIG difference and the mistake of his carrer)

on the fiasco with Canada’s imigration officers:

-he said he was held up for six hours at the airport questioning him about his 2 year service in the army (Mirko never saw combat BTW) and the antiterorrist unit

-UFC’s lawyers and croatian embassy had to intervene, the UFC even contacted Canada’s prime minister

-he never was technically cleared to enter Canada but they let him go, his passport stayed at the airport the whole time during his trip

- 6 police officers waited for him for his departure back to Zagreb thinking he had a bag full of money (thinking he hadn’t payed tax)…very degrading

He said that he has finished with ufc but the door will be opened in case if he change opinion.

Pat Barry Broke His Hand And Foot Against Cro Cop

Pat Barry got the chance to fight with his idol Mirko Cro Cop last night, but it came at the cost of a defeat on his record, and a broken hand and foot.

“Broke hand in first Broke something in foot in first or second,” Barry revealed on twitter after the fight.

He also offered up a frank assessment of his performance.

“it sucks to say, but I panicked last night after I knew my hand and foot were done. I burned out trying to end it with power hits.”

On the bright side, at least Barry now has plenty of room on his casts for Cro Cop to give him an autograph!

His personality has won him a lot of fans in the build up and aftermath of his fight with the PRIDE legend, and so that ensures that he should maintain his place on the UFC roster for some time to come.

Mirko Cro Cop carrer is over?

Former PRIDE superstar, Mirko Cro Cop could be about to hang up his gloves for good as a fighter if reports in the Croatian media are to be believed, but apparently the fighter still has aspirations of staying on with the UFC in an ambassador role.According to Nova TV in Croatia, Cro Cop had said before the fight that win, lose or draw against Pat Barry he expected it to be the end of the road for him competitively. This also coincides with the end of his current deal with the UFC although the promotion are said to be keen on renewing it.The promotion must decide a direction for the Croatian who clearly has no hope of wading his way through the likes of Brock Lesnar, Shane Carwin and Cain Velasquez on route to the title. Perhaps a marquee fight with UFC “Hall of Famer”, Randy Couture would be more fitting if a deal can be done. Stay tuned to crocop.info for more news about this.

Crocop Went to Canada

Smiling Mirko Filipovic went to Canada  this morning.
How’s yours  health condition? It’s good, I am satisfied, there are no injuries that most important. He finished his last fight very easy against Perosh, but now opponent is much better. Have you prepared any special tactics for Pattrick? yes i have, I will pretend that I’m dead haaha. There are no special tactics,I will give my best, I think that will be an attractive fight, he is stand up fighter like me so will not be much ground game. Yesterday they called me from Vancouver radio. They told me that will be Croatians, and they will make a nice welcome for me.

Intervju na hrvatskom: http://www.index.hr/sport/clanak/cro-cop

The media have not heard much from Mirko in the last couple of weeks but it’s not intentional but that he is completely focused on Pat and his traning.

Mirko has no doubts, if he winns he wants a new contract with the UFC the age is there but he has the will to complete another stint.

Basically that this is the last contracted fight and that this is his life and what he likes to do, again that money is not his motivation anymore.

He gets asked if there are any chance that he switches organization if he does not get a new contract with the UFC and he says, no chance what so over. if he does not continue with the UFC then he much rather hang uå the gloves as he ses no point in fighting in an org which does not have the strongest opponents. Also he mentiones that his relations with the UFC are great and this is the only org he wants to fight for and if this is teh last fight he has nothing to feel sorry for as he had a great career and fought the best and came out the winner from most of these fights.

His currently at a fakutly of some sort where he works on this wresling and checks his conditioning with his cionditioning coach Jukic. read more >
